What is a postpartum doula?
When speaking about pregnancy, so many focus on the time between conception to the actual birth. With its numerous possible complications and outcomes, this is completely understandable. However, the first year after birth can also be particularly draining, confusing, and difficult for all parties involved. A postpartum doula is someone who offers a calm, reassuring presence during this time to help the family transition into their new life.

Information
Provide information on resources, techniques, and reliable products so you’re not left guessing or overwhelmed in the face of information overload.
Practical Support
Housework, including cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, simple grocery shopping, meal prep, organizing a food train, taking care of older kids, etc.
Emotional Support
This could be many things depending on your needs, including arranging a group activity for your family, having a chat with one on one, or simply engaging/starting a hobby with you.
Payment/Pricing
- Pricing shifts based on family size and other considerations, but will be in the range of $25-30/hr.
- I accept cash, check, and Zelle payments.
- I expect to be paid on the last shift of the week. So for example, if I am working Monday, Thursday, Saturday, I would be paid for all three days on Saturday.
- There is a late fee of 15%.
Reschedule/Cancellation Policy
- Rescheduling: I require a two day (48 hr) notice. If it’s less than 48 hours, you will still need to pay 1/2 of that day’s pay.
- Cancellations: I require a two day (48 hr) notice in addition to 1/3 of that day’s pay. If you are cancelling the contract, you can do so at any time for any reason but must pay 2/3 of final payment excluding any payment already made.
- For example: if the contract is for 15 days over 2 months, and after 5 days you want to cancel, you would pay 2/3 of the remaining 10 days.
- If I should have to reschedule or cancel, I will also give 48 hour notice but there is no fee expected of you.
